Creative Pattern Cutting Assistant For Women’s Ready-to-Wear

I worked on the technical side of all fundamental production processes, such as pattern cutting, toiling, garment fitting, and making sewing specifications using Adobe Illustrator with the team. Sewing samples with actual fabric for fashion shows helped me to develop my skills to decide garment structures. Occasionally, I assisted in shootings and fashion shows as a dresser.

Clothing alteration staff

Using my knowledge of pattern cutting, I altered and fixed customers’ garments. Tasks included attaching kick tapes to trouser hems and new zips. I gained communication and problem-solving skills by proposing repair methods to customers.

Permanent Employed Pattern Cutter in Planning Department

I independently worked on the technical side of the fundamental production process with the team.  In addition, I made lay plans and graded patterns using CAD. I was in charge of garments 4 or 5 garments per season. Therefore, I selected linings, interlinings, and attachments by considering the main fabric and finishings, and made sure that the garments keep good quality until they are delivered to shops by contacting factories and checking the garments’ measurements. Occasionally, supported customers as shop staff during peak season and got an opportunity to hear their feedback.

Master of Art in Fashion and Creative Pattern Cutting                

I developed postgraduate-level research skills for my personal project “What is a Good Pattern Cutting?” and enhanced both creative pattern cutting and traditional pattern cutting theories by draping and flat pattern cutting techniques. I also gained CAD skills such as Lectra and CLO 3D. The collaboration module brought me an opportunity to increase my teamwork skills to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
